Electrical Maintenance Guidance

Electrical maintenance is a legal requirement, the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, Reg4 states that “all electrical systems must be maintained”. Precautions must be taken against the risk of death or personal injury from electricity at work activities. Neglecting faulty electrical systems could result in injuries to employees, lost income and fines for organisations found to be in breach of statutory responsibilities.

It is therefore important to maintain systems by regular inspections, tests, examinations and to keep records of the condition of electrical systems. This will help to fulfil obligations to the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 and the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974.

Please contact us for advice on maintenance frequencies required for your individual electrical systems.
